Family Archive and Histories of Displacement:

This is an ongoing series of cyanotypes produced from archival photographs of family. The project considers how histories of forced displacement and loss continue to shape memory across generations.

Reproduced through a slow, light-sensitive process, the archival image becomes unstable. Details are preserved, obscured and transformed, drawing attention to the limits of photographic evidence and the fragmentary nature of inherited histories. The series extends Boiko’s wider exploration of absence, personal mythology and the reconstruction of memory.
